- I just received a new loan, does the moratorium count for me too?
Yes, the moratorium applies for all customers with a loan. - Would I need to repay monthly payments of the 3 months being June, July and August 2020?
Yes, you’ll have to repay the 3 monthly payments that have been deferred, however these will not include any additional interest or charges.Only the monthly amounts that have been deferred will have to be repaid. The 3 monthly payments will be effected at the end of your loan’s period. Meaning, you’ll continue paying the same monthly payment amount for 3 more months at the end of your loan’s period, in this way repaying the monthly amount that you deferred during June, July and August 2020. CMB will not charge any interest nor additional charges on this amount.
- I understood CMB gave me a new loan to cover the monthly payment of June, July and August 2020? How does this work?
CMB opened an account in the borrowers name in order to cover the deferred monthly payments of June, July and August 2020. The customer must repay this amount at the end of the loan’s period and will be repaid in 3 monthly installments equal to the actual loan monthly payment. Thus, the customer’s monthly payment will not change. For example: The customer is paying Afl. 1,500.00 a month. His payments of June, July and August 2020 have been posponed. CMB opens a new loan “account” for 0.00% interest to the customer of Afl. 4,500.00 which is equal to 3 monthly payments that the customer posponed. If the customer was supposed to finish paying his loan by December 2020, now he’ll have 3 additional payments for January 2021, February 2021 and March 2021; each in the amount of Afl. 1,500.00 to sum the total amount of Afl. 4,500.00 that was posponed as of the moratorium.
- Do I pay interest on the monthly payments which I’ve skipped?
No. CMB will not charge any interest nor additional charges on the postponed payments by customers during the moratorium. - I logged in to my CMB Online Banking and see a new number in the loans list. What is this?
If you’ve made use of the moratorium and haven’t Opted-out, you’ll notice a new number on your accounts list on CMB Online Banking. This refers to the 0.00% COVID-19 Moratorium. This is the loan’s extension of which you will not have to pay additional interest or charges. The indicated amount is the total amount of the months of March, April and May 2020. You’ll also have to repay the moratorium of June, July and August 2020 payments that were postponed at the end of your loan’s end period, spread in 6 equal monthly payments. - If I am able to save these 3 monthly payments and deposit the amount back on the principal amount of my loan in June 2020, will my monthly repayments be recalculated?
This payment will be seen as an extra payment on the principal of the loan. In order to the monthly payment, please contact or make an appointment with one of our Sales Officers to request this, as these calculations are done manually for your specific case. Please note that this deposit will not cover the 3 monthly payments which were postponed and you will still need to repay this at the end of the loan period. If you wish to pay back the 3 month payments then you need to specify the new account number when making the additional payment. - Will my monthly payments change starting September 2020?
Your monthly payment will not change and the amount you pay monthly will remain the same till the end of the loan period. Once your loan reaches its end period you will have to pay the 3 monthly payments that were postponed. This consists of 3 monthly payments equal to the ones paid during the loan; and 6 monthly payments if you’ve accepted to moratorium of June, July and August 2020 as well. - What will be the new expiry date of my loan?
Your loan repayment schedule will resume in September 2020 and your loan period will be extended maintaining your monthly repayment amount for a period of 3 months. Please take note that this means that your loan’s expiry date will remain the same, however you’ll have to repay the months of June, July and August 2020 for 3 months after your loans expiry date. (6 months if you’ve accepted the extended moratorium). - Will the amount I pay monthly on my loan change at the end of the loan period, and will this be automatically deducted from my account?
